So, to start things off, let me tell you what brought me to blogger.com. I guess it's a testament to what a fantasy world I live in...
I decided to spend today catching up on some tv that I had saved in my DVR(best invention ever, by the way). I was two episodes behind on I Survived a Japanese Gameshow, so I began there. After watching these two episodes I decided that Dan the Librarian is, in fact, completely awesome. If you don't watch this show, you should. It's a refreshing break from the usual cookie cutter reality shows. (Aside: I love cookie cutter reality shows as well, so no offense is meant.) Anyway, I already liked Dan from his profession and general personality. Then in these episodes he reveals that he is a virgin and doesn't drink. These are two things that I find very appealing in a person, so that put him over the top on the Awesome Meter.
So as I usually do, I decided to check facebook for a Dan. Now, this may sound a little bit stalker-like, and maybe it is. But what can I say? I never seem to meet cool people like that in real life, so any time I come across someone that seems cool on tv I feel the need to investigate further. And really, isn't going on reality tv like asking for people to stalk you? Have you ever looked at how much a normal person's popularity rises after they have gone on a reality show? I know I'm not the only one who does this...
I've lived in Pittsburgh my whole life, and from what I can tell the general past time of people my age here is to "go out" which apparently is synonymous with "get drunk." Funny how the term "go out" can't just mean to leave the house anymore... When did that happen? Why can't "go out" mean to go bowling or go to a movie? Is bar-hopping the general past time everywhere now? Or is it truly a Pittsburgh thing? Sports town and beer town, we are.
In any case, I found Dan on facebook, and saw that he had posted a link to his blog on here. So, now I am loyal follower of www.bydan.blogspot.com and have been inspired to pick up blogging again myself. So to Dan, I say "thank you" for the inspiration and the awesomeness.
Until later,
Linz :)
